The Ruth S. Ammon College of Education and Health Sciences received notice of a re-accreditation by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) from Spring 2020 through Spring 2027. This renews our original accreditation status, received in 2013 from the accrediting body for teacher and school leader education.


The following programs were included in the CAEP 2019 Accreditation review:

Initial Programs (Early Childhood Special Education, Childhood Special Education, Adolescent Special Education, Childhood Education, Adolescent English, Adolescent Math, Adolescent Science, Adolescent Social Studies, Art Education, Music Education, TESOL, Physical Education, and Health Education.)

Advanced Programs (Early Childhood Special Education, Childhood Special Education, Adolescent Special Education, TESOL, Literacy, and Health Education.)


The Master of Science (M.S.) education program in speech-language pathology {residential, satellite location} at Adelphi University is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, 2200 Research Boulevard, #310, Rockville, MD 20850, 800-498-2071 or 301-296-5700.

The program’s accreditation period is from May 1, 2016 through April 30, 2024.


The Doctor of Audiology (AuD) education program in audiology at the Long Island Consortium of Adelphi, Hofstra, and St. John’s Universities is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), 2200 Research Boulevard #310, Rockville, MD 20850, 800.498.2071 or 301.296.5700.

The program’s accreditation period is from February 1, 2021, through January 31, 2029.


The Ruth S. Ammon College of Education and Health Sciences is also accredited by the New York State Education Department.
