Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP)


This website provides information about the quality of the educator preparation programs at Adelphi University. Included are data for the Eight Annual Reporting Measures as required by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation, the accrediting body for Education Preparation Providers. In addition, the website provides all sections of the Self-Study Report submitted by the College of Education and Health Sciences, along with supporting evidence. These data demonstrate that Adelphi University’s graduates are competent and caring educators and that data is used to maintain and enhance the quality of teacher education programs. 

Interested parties are invited to submit third-party comments which will be reviewed by the CAEP site visitors.

Approximate Accreditation Timeline

February 15, 2019 Education Preparation Provider (EPP)* submits Self Study Report (SSR) to CAEP
July 2019 EPP receives Formative Feedback Report and prepares SSR Addendum
September 2019 EPP submits SSR Addendum to CAEP
September 15–17, 2019 Mock Site visit
July–November 2019

Solicitation of Third Party Comments:

The EPP and CAEP publicly announce the upcoming accreditation review and the date the site visit to provide time for interested stakeholders to make comments.

November 10–12, 2019 Site visit team on campus to conduct interviews and prepare the initial report.
December 2019 EPP receives initial Site Visit Report.
Within 7 days of receiving initial visit report EPP submits factual corrections
January 2020 EPP receives Final Site Visit Report
February 2020 EPP submits Rejoinder
May 2020 Expect Accreditation Decision

*Education Preparation Provider (EPP), refers to teacher education programs within the College of Education and Health Sciences, as well as those housed in the College of Arts and Sciences.
