Teachers will participate in interactive workshops. Workshop topics include:
- Interactive Global Education
Collaborative effort between nations to integrate peace and human rights education into schools
- Challenging Opression in our Schools
ERASE Racism, Get a Voice Project, Global Kids, and Increase the Peace present strategies to counteract oppression on various levels in our schools and communities
- Resources and Global Connections for Educators
Overview of the UN's goals and how to make connections with peace education organizations and teachers from around the world, including presentations by UN Cyberschoolbus and UN Works
- Conflict Resolution in School and Community
How to develop conflict resolution programs; promote understanding, tolerance, and friendship
- International Human Rights Organizations
Camp Hope Rwanda and Caroline Mungai Foundation speakers from international human rights organizations will present their work and ideas on human rights education and activism
- Interfaith and Intercultural panel discussions will be presented by members of the Holocaust Resource Center, the Dialogue Project, and Islamic Center of Long Island
