Internships are required for the Master of Arts with an emphasis in Adapted Physical Education, Exercise Physiology and Sport Management. Upon completion of 24 credits students must complete an application for internship placement. Applications must be submitted three months prior to beginning the internship.
Criteria for internship selection include:
- Satisfactory GPA
- Professional potential and/or research capabilities
- Recommendation from Teacher Development Team (TDT)
Students approved for an internship may apply for placement at a suitable internship site. The Department maintains a list of sites and will assist students in locating an Internship but cannot guarantee the student will be accepted at that site. All internships must also be approved by the internship site.
Those students not recommended for the internship experience may continue pursuing the Master of Arts degree provided that they have a satisfactory GPA.
It should be understood that students who are not approved for the Internship experience will not receive the professional certification, and not all students who apply for the internship experience will be approved.

Applications are also available in the Physical Education Department Office. |
