Graduate assistantships are available in exercise physiology, teaching, and sport management. Assistantships may include a stipend and full tuition remission for up to 15 credits a semester.
Exercise Physiology graduate assistantship responsibilities include supervision of adult fitness/cardiac rehabilitation program, strength/conditioning of university athletes, research laboratory assistance, and supervision of fitness classes.
Assistantships may also include teaching, class preparation and equipment management. Students on a graduate assistantship may take up to 15 credits a semester. It is expected that students who accept an assistantship complete their Master's degree in two semesters and one summer. This requires approximately 33–36 credit hours.
- Students must complete an application for graduate admission and the Graduate Assistantship Application (DOC 40 KB).
- Forward one copy of the Graduate Assistantship Application form and one copy of the Activity Performance List to the Physical Education office.
- Forward one copy of the undergraduate transcript to Adelphi and the other to the Physical Education Office.
- Forward one recommendation to Adelphi and the other to the Physical Education office.
- Arrange for an interview with the program director or department chair.
