Graduate assistantships are available in exercise physiology, teaching, and sport management. Full-time assistantships carry a stipend of full tuition remission for up to 12 credits a semester.
Full-time graduate assistantships carry approximately 20 hours of teaching and preparation per week. In limited cases, students be assigned to a part or full-time schedule in research or program development.
Students on a graduate assistantship may take up to 12 credits a semester. It is expected that students who accept an assistantship complete their Master's degree in two semesters and one summer. This is approximately 33-36 credit hours.
Application Procedures
- Students must complete an application for graduate admission and the graduate assistantship application.
- Forward one copy of the Graduate Assistantship application form and one copy of the Activity Preference List to the Physical Education office.
- Forward one copy of the undergraduate transcript to Adelphi and the other to the Physical Education Office.
- Forward one recommendation to Adelphi and the other to the Physical Education office.
- Arrange for an interview with the program director or department chair.
