The Health Studies programs provide the health educator with the skills and training necessary to promote, maintain, and improve health in schools and in the community. Through a multi-disciplinary curriculum, students gain a broad understanding of the complex emotional, intellectual, physical, spiritual, and social components of human health.
Adelphi's nationally recognized programs attract candidates from a variety of academic and professional backgrounds. This diversity adds another dimension to understanding health care needs from many different perspectives.

Students are encouraged to take advantage of membership in state, national, and international health-related academic and advocacy organizations. The Health Studies program was awarded membership in Eta Sigma Gamma, the national health education honorary society.
Graduates of the above programs may be eligible to become Certified Health Education specialists through the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. (NCHEC).
