HealthNets

Healthnets LogoHealthNets is a professional organization that promotes the exchange of ideas in teaching and research among health educators. Founded by Adelphi faculty, it also sponsors an annual Partnerships in Health Conference.

HealthNets was started in the fall of 1997 by Dr. Monica Homer and Professor Mary Barrese as an informal gathering of health educators. It evolved into bi-semester meetings where participants share news about conferences at the local, state and national level, discuss innovative teaching strategies and explore advances in health studies.

The meetings present many opportunities to learn about developments and trends in health studies. The HealthNets meetings take place in Nassau or Suffolk County and are scheduled from 7:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.

Attendance at the HealthNets annual conference counts toward professional development hours.
