Physical Education

The Physical Education program prepares professionals to develop, teach, and promote fitness and wellness programs. Students learn to use exercise, sport, games, and dance in age-appropriate programs for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Through a multidisciplinary approach, students gain the skills necessary to work with individuals and diverse groups in a variety of settings such as schools, community health centers, hospitals, recreation centers, and the workplace. Students may specialize as coaches, teachers, or adapted physical educators. A teaching practicum and field experience are required.
