Undergraduate Programs

The Bachelor of Arts in Communication Disorders provides pre-professional training in speech-language pathology and audiology within a strong liberal arts framework. Students acquire a basic knowledge of the speech, language, and hearing sciences. The program is designed to prepare students for graduate school in speech-language pathology, audiology, and speech and hearing science.

  • The undergraduate program meets the core requirements for admission to graduate school.
  • Courses fulfill certain academic and practicum requirements for clinical certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Students may select additional courses leading to New York State certification as a Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD). However, student teaching is required for certification and is offered only at the graduate level.
