A New York State license allows you to practice speech-language pathology or audiology in New York.
The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is the nation’s leading professional, credentialing, and scientific organization for speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and speech, language, and hearing scientists.
ASHA certification means holding the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), a nationally recognized professional credential that represents a level of excellence in the field of audiology (CCC-A) or speech-language pathology (CCC-SLP).
It is the student’s responsibility to apply for New York State licensure and for the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
