SPE 142: Phonetics 3 credits An examination of the production and perception of speech. Emphasis is placed on acoustic, physiologic, and kinesiologic approaches to the study of phonetics. Transcription training using the International Phonetic Alphabet and practical experience in acoustic speech analysis are provided.
