Our Mission

The Adelphi University Ruth S. Ammon School of Education is a school on the move. Throughout its programs for the preparation of teachers and other school professionals, we are committed to putting our words into action. To this end, we’ve put a renewed emphasis on such critical stances as: valuing teacher research; building meaningful school and community partnerships; infusing diversity and social justice issues throughout the curriculum; translating theory into practice for teachers and learners; embracing the whole learner in everything we do; and recognizing the creative elements inherent to the art of teaching and learning.

This website is a small window that provides information related to NCATE accreditation; who we are and what we value; and an assessment system that captures the uniqueness of individual programs. Once again, we think you will see through these links a school in motion, always renewing, always reflecting and always getting better.
