Overview
I. The Exploration Phase
This phase is represented by the first 18 credits of coursework in the Educational Leadership & Technology (EDL) program. You will begin to insert your first artifacts into your Electronic Portfolio after taking your first courses, such as (EDL 533 Computer Based Technology in Education, EDL 553 Educational Policy, EDL 554 Research/Evaluation in Schools, EDL561 Management Theory/Organizational Behavior, EDL 590 Ethics, Law, and Technology, and EDL 666 School Leadership). Accompanying each artifact should be a reflective statement, for example, why this represented a particularly meaningful experience for you, what you learned, how this complements your previous work or experience, and any new interests or directions which may have developed from this project or assignment.

II. The Synthesis Phase
The second phase starts when you have completed the first 18 credits and you are beginning EDL 556 Supervision in the Schools or when you submit your application for the internship and you hand in your electronic portfolio (e-folio). Within this phase, you are asked to refine your Professional Development Plan for your E-Folio, and to continue to add artifacts and reflections, referencing both the 7 ELCC standards and Adelphi University’s 6 Core Values. By the end of the Synthesis Phase, your Professional Electronic Portfolio should be essentially developed.

III. The Reflective Practice Phase
This phase begins with your final courses in EDL including: Administrative Internship (555), completion of Supervision in the Schools (556) and the Capstone course: Technology in School Administration (557). Throughout your EDL courses you are asked to revise and refine your Electronic Professional Portfolio.
